We took a train to Utrecht southeast of Amsterdam. It has a university with 40,000 students so we saw a lot younger population walking around. Most of the canals we saw were different in that there were apartments, restaurants, workshops and a B&B below the street level, even with the canal.
We were going to a very tall tower that can be taken to the top but it was under restoration.
Then we went to a museum but it was under restoration and we could not go. Neither showed this on their websites. Finally we found a very interesting museum about instruments that play themselves. Such things as organ grinders, calliopes, clocks, pianos with the paper rolls, etc. They showed several very unique things and also explained how they work. This was very interesting and worth the visit.
There was also a very narrow house here. There were more newer houses here that what we saw in Amsterdam.
On the way from the airport to Amsterdam we were in very populated areas. Today we rode through the countryside and saw a lot of dairy cows and small fields where they grazed. A few of the fields had newly mown hay.
We saw 2 redbud trees today. It almost made feel at home. We only walked 5.37 miles today so aren't quite as tired. I think. lol We are really enjoying the food. We try to eat something new and different all the time. So far we really, really like the bread, pear pie, friets, soups, sandwiches, yogurt, stroopwafels, and on and on.
