Toto, we are not in Kansas anymore. Or Indiana! Miami Beach is like another world. We drove on A1A from North Miami Beach all the way onto Key Biscayne. It is unbelievable the number of high-rise condos there are. I don't know where all those people work, eat and shop! We went through the art deco area which was very interesting. Much of it is rather run down.

One place was having a "boat show" which had "boats" that were larger than our house and as long as our lot. There where huge yachts. We also saw all kinds of cars on the streets, Maserati, Rolls Royce, Jaguar, and more common Accuras, etc.

Note the name of the next boat: Carpe Diem.

We saw a couple of canals with houses and boats that looked like those that Crockett and Tubbs went to.

Key Biscayne really is a residential areas with schools, doctor offices, etc. We ate our lunch at a beach park. The view of Miami from there is really nice. We went by a shipyard and saw an ocean liner and the cranes that they use to load items.

We are staying at an historic hotel just south of Key Largo. It is a very old hotel with a very narrow hallway and a small room with a very small bathroom which has only a shower. It still has the old door frames where you can see where the transom used to be. It is very nice and clean.

We ate at a Cuban restaurant near it. Wonderful food! I think we both gained 10 pounds from that one meal. We tried to watch the sunset over the gulf but there were too many clouds by time it was ready to set.

I forgot to mention that it was 81 degrees, low humidity, sunny with a nice breeze today. Perfect!!!!
